Two more people are now in custody related to a theft at London's Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals sustained injuries by a substance believed to be pepper spray, as stated by law enforcement.
A man, 24, was arrested in Lambeth for suspected theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals are still being held, the force said.
These detentions come after an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the attack, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their luggage upon exiting a car park lift.
A three-year-old girl was among the injured during the incident. Five people went to hospital for medical care and were later discharged.
Police detained a man in his thirties for suspected robbery and assault near the location. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.
Authorities were called at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding a number of individuals hurt by a noxious substance thought to be pepper spray.
The attack - which authorities stated was a standalone incident and not being treated as terrorism - caused train delays and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility briefly.
